The Institute for Cellular and Molecular Biology and the Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Program host a number of events each year, both on and off campus. These events bring together students and faculty and help to foster a sense of community and spur a number of collaborative projects.
- The annual Recruiting Weekends allow prospective students to get a feel for life in the graduate program, at UT and in Texas!
- The New Student Orientation is held at the start of the first semester each year and gives first year students in the program the opportunity to meet their new peers, familiarize themselves with program requirements and chat with faculty on the Graduate Studies Committee.
- Every year, the ICMB hosts an out of town weekend Conference and Retreat in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. All graduate students in the CMB Graduate Program are invited to share their research, learn about other research going on in the Institute and maybe even have a little fun.
- There are also a number of weekly departmental and Institute seminars that allow students to catch up on the latest research both on and off campus.
