Apply online at Texas Common Application. All application materials should be submitted online - please DO NOT send paper materials or duplicate paper copies of the online application. Please submit your application by December 1, 2018 for admission to the doctoral program in Biochemistry for Fall 2019. Applications received after that date will be considered, but it may not be feasible to complete the review of late applications in time for invitations to recruitment visits. UT Austin only admits students seeking a PhD in Biochemistry and only in the fall semester.

Please use this checklist to ensure that you are submitting all the necessary materials.

All supporting materials should be uploaded electronically.  The GRE and TOEFL scores will be sent directly from ETS upon your request.

Once complete, please check your application status and documents received here .

After the admissions committee reviews applications, qualified applicants may be invited to interview during a recruitment visit in January or February. These visits provide a great opportunity to interact with faculty and current graduate students, experience our campus, and tour Austin.

Commitment to Diversity

The Biochemistry Graduate Program is committed to providing educational opportunities to students from diverse backgrounds underrepresented in the biological sciences. We strongly encourage students of all backgrounds to apply. In addition to the support from our department, the University of Texas at Austin offers a number of fellowships to promote graduate study and diversity.
